Structural Integration is a unique modality of hands on bodywork that can help our bodies process and adapt to the physiological challenges we all face being human.

The ways in which we move through the world, experience stiffness & pain, are vastly impacted by unconscious, compensatory patterns held in our body’s tissue (fascia).

When we learn to consciously let go of these old holding patterns, we can allow our human structure to reclaim its wise & natural alignment within Earth’s gravitational field. The sensory intelligence of the body is reawakened, and we discover the opportunity to heal.

“I am so grateful for Kalou who helped me learn how to heal softly, in relationship and communication with my body, with curiosity, and with a willingness to be surprised.” -O.D.K.

About Kalou

Kalou Eichholz (pronounced Kuh-loo, Ike-holtz)  is a Structural Integration (SI) practitioner based in Crestone, Colorado at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. She trained in 2014/2015 at the Crestone College of Structural Integration with David Davis and Buddy Frank.

Kalou’s journey to SI began early. She was introduced to the work around age 10, and received her first ten series at 16. This event was an important and necessary initiation. She writes:

“The ten series gave me a new, yet instinctually familiar experience in having a body. A potent, underlying sense of ease developed out of learning to let go of the patterns I had been carrying unconsciously in my tissue all my life. A new understanding bubbled up within; change was a constant, and my body’s ability to become more fluid could also translate into my relationship with life. To experience the body as a plastic medium, highly adaptable, and capable of finding balance amidst the chaos of life’s never ending transitions was a huge relief.”

Over her life, Kalou has found the magic of SI to be a safe and trusted companion, an evolving, ever present invitation to come home to the body, to be surprised by the teachings embedded in our living tissue; a catalyst to foster change on many levels.

Kalou continues to deepen her transmission of the work through personal study, various movement & meditation practices, and continuing ed. trainings. She is involved in ongoing mentorships with seasoned practitioners who embody the lineage of Dr. Rolf, and to whom she is enduringly grateful.

Outside of her SI practice, Kalou has solo traveled to far corners of the globe, apprenticed with woodworkers & mythic homesteaders and been part of facilitating women's circles both amongst civilization and far from it.

In her unscheduled time, she enjoys sewing, making music with her loved ones and spending extended time in wild places.  Kalou does life with her husband, her 6 year-old stepson, and their dog, Huckleberry.  Together they are all embarking on a new adventure in home life, off grid- the challenging though undeniably fruitful path of the owner/builder.
